Taking a walk in Nature- Taking in the Details

Walking in nature has numerous advantages for kids. Not only do they get physical exercise, walking in nature also improves mental health in kids. The sensory stimulation they get from smelling the fresh morning air, observing the soft light of a sunrise and hearing birds and insects creates a calming and restorative experience.
Spending time among the trees provides the opportunity for kids to explore their creativity and imagination. For Leah-Marie and Hannah getting up on the Saturday morning proved to be a huge problem. They were tired after a very busy week and Saturdays are sleeping in days. But it only took a few minutes for them to react positively to their environment. Their comfy beds were forgotten and they immediately started observing beautiful trees and little hiding places where we could take some photos of them with our new, small Ellie B backpacks for kids.
I just loved how quickly they understood the importance of light in photographs. We had a small window of working in perfect early morning sunlight and they ran around identifying perfect spots and angles.
