“Sunrise, Softness, and the Joy of Motion”
Share
There’s a moment in the early morning when the light turns golden-pink and the daisies open their faces to the sun. That’s the feeling I wanted to capture in my very first animation—the debut of Pink Daisy.
She’s more than a plush toy. She’s a little embodiment of joy, softness, and the wild-hearted spirit that runs through everything I create. Watching her play among daisies, with a butterfly and a bee dancing nearby, felt like stitching motion into a dream.
Creating this animation—simple, imperfect, and deeply personal—has been a new kind of joy. I’ve always felt most alive when designing surface patterns, imagining characters, and crafting products that carry emotion. This time, I got to see one of them move.
Studio Bloom by Ellie Bosch is my way of honoring that joy. It’s where stories bloom in motion, and where every frame carries the heartbeat of handmade magic.
I’ve always found magic in the stillness of design—how a single wildflower sketch can carry a story, how a plush toy can hold comfort and memory. But this time, I wanted to see that magic move.
Pink Daisy was born from a moment of playfulness and tenderness. She’s soft, round, and full of wonder—like a hug stitched from a sunrise. In this first animation, she runs through a field of white daisies, chased by a butterfly and followed by a curious bee. The sky glows in warm pinks and yellows, echoing the joy I felt while creating her.
It’s a very simple animation. No fancy effects, no polished transitions. Just motion, heart, and a deep desire to bring my handmade world to life. I taught myself the basics, fumbled through frames, and smiled every time Pink Daisy twirled through the daisies.
This is what Bloom Bosch Animations by Ellie Bosch is all about. It’s a space where my characters can move, where stories unfold in gentle motion, and where the spirit of the wildflowers I love so deeply can dance across the screen.
Designing surface patterns, crafting new products, and now animating—each step feels like a continuation of the same heartbeat. It’s the rhythm of creation, of connection, of honoring the land and the women whose hands shape so much of what I do.
I hope this tiny film brings you a moment of joy. I hope you see the sunrise in her smile, the Namaqualand landscape in her bounce, and the love stitched into every frame.
Thank you for being part of this journey. There’s so much more to bloom.
With wildflower wonder,
Ellie Bosch
